Anything Blue review – Blue interiors at Casafina (Achica)

In May 2015, the Casafina’s bluest issue is set in the Hamptons (New York, USA), in designer Babi Ahluwalia’s home. The shopping list includes blue Ikat pillows, rugs and vases. Enjoy.

A Home in the Hamptons with Textile Designer Babi Ahluwalia

Fashion and textile designer Babi Ahluwalia tells us about her Hamptons home, outdoor living and doing needlework for Oscar de le Renta.’

‘Inside, the interior features a mix of blue and white ikat printed textiles from Ankasa, whimsical vintage finds such as the Swedish Konditori sign that hangs in the kitchen and the couple’s collection of contemporary Indian art (Babi describes themselves as being ‘art enthusiasts rather than collectors’), which is housed in the light-filled playroom basement along with a wall display of badminton rackets. Other quirky touches include a boat pulley installation, a collection of wooden bottles on the mantelpiece in the open-plan living room and a collection of colourful drinking glasses. The Ahluwalia’s love entertaining so the biggest change they made to the house when they bought it was a new kitchen. They also added three dining tables: one in the porch, another in the kitchen and a third outside for lazy summer dining alfresco.’
